Customer Service Representative
Location: San Francisco, CA / San Mateo, CA
About the Role
We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to support daily branch operations while delivering exceptional service to clients. This role is responsible for handling customer transactions, assisting with account inquiries, and supporting overall branch performance.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to balance accuracy with efficiency in a fast-paced banking environment. This position plays a key role in creating a positive client experience while supporting sales and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Client Support
- Provide prompt, professional, and courteous service to all clients
- Assist customers with account inquires, transactions, and service requests
- Enlighten clients on bank products and services, identifying opportunities for cross-selling
- Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues as needed to ensure positive outcomes
Transaction Processing
- Accurately process daily transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payments
- Handle cash, checks, and negotiable instruments in accordance with bank procedures
- Balance cash drawer and maintain accurate transaction records
- Ensure all transactions are completed efficiently and in compliance with policies
Sales & Referrals
- Identify client needs and refer appropriate banking products and services
- Support branch sales goals through referrals and customer engagement
- Promote a relationship-based, customer-first approach to banking
Operational Support
- Assist with daily branch operations and administrative tasks
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Support account opening and maintenance processes as needed
- Ensure the branch environment is professional, organized, and welcoming
Compliance & Risk Management
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements
- Follow internal controls, policies, and procedures to minimize risk
- Maintain confidentiality of client and bank information
- Identify and report suspicious or unusual activity
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1-3 years of banking, teller or operations experience preferred
- Strong cash handling and transactional accuracy skills
- Working knowledge of banking regulations and compliance practices preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Compensation
Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000 annually (based on experience)
