Branch Manager
Location: San Mateo, CA
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead overall branch performance and drive business growth. This role is responsible for achieving sales goals, building strong client relationships, and fostering a high-performing, customer-focused team.
The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader who excels in business development, relationship management, and team leadership, while ensuring alignment with the bank’s strategic goals and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Leadership & Performance
- Lead, coach, and develop branch staff to achieve high performance and engagement
- Set and drive branch sales goals, including deposit growth and client acquisition
- Monitor branch performance metrics and implement strategies to improve results
- Partner with senior leadership to align branch objectives with overall bank strategy
Sales & Business Development
- Drive deposit growth through proactive sales, referrals, and cross-selling
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support retention and growth
- Identify new business opportunities within the local market
- Collaborate with leadership and teams to expand client relationships
Customer Experience
- Cultivate a culture of exceptional service and accountability
- Coach staff on client engagement, product knowledge, and service delivery
- Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure positive outcomes
Community Engagement
- Represent the bank in the local San Mateo community
- Build partnerships and participate in outreach initiatives to grow branch presence
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements
- Reinforce compliance culture through leadership and accountability
- Partner with Operations Manager to ensure strong internal controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of banking management experience, including 3+ years of demonstrated sales experience with proven results; Retail banking is highly preferred
- Proven record of achieving sales and growth targets
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of financial industry products and services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to travel to other branches or meet clients as needed; Valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance are required

Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000 annually (based on experience)
